Leap is a popular browser extension for Cosmos-base chains. This guide will walk you through setting it up and connecting to the correct Babylon Test Network.

Note that the BABY key and address generated in the Babylon Testnet is shared with Babylon Mainnet. Airdrops will be dropped to BABY addresses on the Babylon Mainnet.

1. Install Leap Wallet

Go to the Leap Wallet website (https://www.leapwallet.io/download ) and download the extension for your  browsers. Ensure you are on the official site to avoid scams.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install the extension.

If you don’t see the Lead Wallet icon in your toolbar, open the extension management settings and pin it.

2. Create a New Wallet

Open the Lap Wallet by clicking the extension icon in your browser toolbar.

Click on “Create new wallet”.

On the next page, your 12-word mnemonic phrases will be displayed. Make sure to note them down and store them in a very secure location. You will need to verify your seed phrase on the next page.

Click on “I have saved it soemwhere safe.”, then you will be asked to verify your phrases. Then click “Confirm”.

Choose a strong password for your wallet on the next page. Agree to Terms of Use then click “Proceed”.

3. Select Babylon Network

To switch to the Babylon network and create an address, click the dropdown on the top right corner.

On the next page that says “Switch chain”, start typing “babylon…” in the search bar. You should see the Babylon. Click on it to swtich to Babylon Testnet.

Your baby address is now created. The address should look like bbn1pu9zgeyqdr4gepr96xknp0nkdw8t7xtf6ax5gc. Click the copy button to copy your address to the clipboard.

4. Test Receiving Funds (Faucets):

To test if your wallet can receive funds, you can request some from a Babylon testnet faucet like L2Scan.

Visit the faucet at L2Scan. In your Leap Wallet, ensure that the Babylon testnet is selected, and you will see your wallet address. Copy this address and paste it into the faucet website. If you don’t have an account, click on “Sign in” and create a user account using your email, crypto wallet, or Google SSO.

Next, click on “Get Faucet” and wait for confirmation. Within approximately 10 seconds, your wallet should reflect the received amount.

Security Reminders

Seed Phrase Security: Your seed phrase is the key to your wallet. Protect it at all costs.

Beware of Scams: Be very cautious of phishing websites and fake extensions. Always double-check URLs.
